Recycle cars for cash

Recycle cars for cash is a British automotive industry initiative. The British automotive industry has committed to helping thousands of consumers recycle their old vehicles with a free take-back service.

Under the End of Life Vehicles Directive manufacturers provide this service free of charge, but some motorists can face difficulties if the brand is no longer trading and has no parent company.

The Society of Motor Manufactures and Traders in partnership with recycling company Autogreen will ensure that all unclaimed cars and vans can be disposed of and recycled responsibly with no cost to the consumer.

Rewards for recycling

You can recycle cars for cash in some situations.  Reward Recycling is a company you can try. I would suggest that you see what price your car would be worth before parting with it for free.

A car that is ready for scrap is one of the few articles that can be worth more to the scrap dealer, once broken up, that it is in its whole condition. When compared to your old fridge or television, your old car can at least give you, in most cases, cash back.

Benefits of recycling

Aside from the diversion of material from landfills, other important benefits of metal recycling versus the creation of original metal include a recycle cars for cashreduction in energy consumption as well as in the use of other materials. For example recycled aluminium requires 95 percent less energy, while copper needs 90 percent less, and steel 56 percent less. Additionally, the recycling of one ton of steel avoids the use of 2,500 pounds of iron ore, 1,400 pounds of coal and 120 pounds of limestone.

In 2005 the End of Life Vehicle Regulations made car makers individually responsible for giving customers who own cars of their brands, the opportunity to dispose of them in a safe, legal and environmentally friendly way when they reach the end of their useful life.  When scrap prices are low, this service must also be provided free of charge. There are a number of organisation that provide this service for the car makers – search online for ‘recycling cars’. What to do with cars
